Chocolat Goodness

At a special grand opening ceremony with family, friends and Mayor Sam Teresi present, Chocolat Day Spa officially opened its doors to the public.

The full-service day spa offers a variety of options for pampering. In addition to capsule or bed tanning, Chocolat also offers professional skin care from a certified esthetician, massage therapy, manicures, pedicures, hair styling and body waxing.

Jamestown doesnt have anything like this, Dwaileebe said. Its where luxurious beauty meets sweet chocolate indulgence.

Located in the former Sun Capsule building on Washington Street, the entire business has been remodeled from the floor to the ceiling. The walls are varying shades of chocolate, as she described it. Each section is semi-private and loaded with top-of-the-line equipment and products.

Achieving the ideal glow different for every tanner

Now that the days are getting colder and gloomier, students may start hitting the tanning salons more often to get rid of their pale faces. For an inexperienced tanner, however, it's often easy to end up with an unwanted sunburn.

For first-time tanners, it's all about what your goal is, said Michelle Grubbs, owner of Max Tan, with four locations in Lincoln.

"We believe in educating our clients," Grubbs said. "For every person that comes in, we find out what their needs are, what they are tanning for, and we go from there."

Max Tan, like many other tanning salons in Lincoln, offers low pressure, medium pressure and high pressure tanning beds, as well as stand-up tanning and spray-on.

In simplest terms, the higher pressure of the bed, the lower the amount of UVB, a burning ray, and the higher the amount of UVA, a bronzing ray.

Sumter woman gets nearly six years in prison for stealing $7M from employer

Authorities say a Sumter woman who embezzled $7 million from her job to buy vehicles, boats, land and jewelry is facing nearly six years in federal prison.

Prosecutors say Angela Timmons must pay back the money she stole from Peace Textile, where she worked as an account manager and finance director for nearly ten years.

Peace Textile has sued Timmons, saying she used the stolen money to buy 44 vehicles, including a Porsche, two Mercedes-Benzs, three Hummers, a BMW, a Jaguar, a Corvette and an all-terrain vehicle.

The lawsuit says Timmons also bought boats, more than $700,000 in jewelry, golf carts, a tanning bed and a camper.

Timmons pleaded guilty to embezzlement earlier this year.

Man looks familiar -- then robs pizza parlor

WOOD VILLAGE -- A man walked into a Papa Murphy's pizza parlor Monday, ready to rob. Then another man walked in, so the robber sat down on a bench and waited.

The second man ordered his pizza, leaned in toward the woman working there, and said: "I think I saw that guy on the news last night for robbing a store."

Then the second man left. As if on cue, the first man got up and robbed the store.

Monday's incident marked the fourth similar robbery in the east county area in the past week. Each robbery targeted women employees in their 20s; the past three each occurred two days after the previous robbery.

Police think -- but aren't sure -- that it is the same man. If it is, they fear he is becoming more brazen.

Detectives from Gresham, Troutdale, Fairview and the Multnomah County Sheriff's Office are investigating the robberies at three pizza parlors and a tanning salon.
