The Philippine School of Interior Design (PSID) Advanced Class of 2007�s graduation exhibit, �Forty, Filipino, and Fabulous� (�F3�), lived up to its title with its showcase of 19 masterfully designed and executed interior spaces featuring Philippine furniture in celebration of PSID�s 40th anniversary. Running for the whole month of October at the basement of Paseo Center (Paseo de Roxas cor. Sedeno st., Salcedo Village, Makati City) and mounted in cooperation with the Chamber of Furniture Industries of the Philippines (CFIP), F3 focused on Filipino furniture, which has earned for the Philippines the title of �Milan of Asia� with unique and intricate design, use of indigenous materials and excellent craftsmanship. PSID is the country�s premiere institution in interior design education, established in 1967 by Engr.
Early OK for slots vote
ANNAPOLIS -- The Maryland Senate gave preliminary approval Thursday to adding hundreds of millions of dollars in taxes on top of Gov. Martin O'Malley's proposal to address the budget deficit. The Senate also initially approved holding a referendum on slot machine gambling. Final votes on a November 2008 slot machine referendum and O'Malley's tax reform proposal could come later Thursday evening, which would send the budget deficit measures over to the House of Delegates. The Senate spent much of Thursday afternoon debating amendments to the governor's plan to address a projected $1.7 billion budget deficit. .

Column: The Cream Filling
It seems that one large step toward becoming a successful adult is the humble and obligatory move-back-in-with-the-parents experience. I guess that means I am movin' on up, to a deluxe house in Hamiltucky. Indeed. It has been a while since my parents and I have been able to chat about life's little minutia, so the first week has been quite a change of pace. I came home from school to a warm welcome. My mom was in the kitchen with me looking at an L.L. Bean catalogue or something of that nature. My dad was watching the news in the back room. My parents have always been supportive of my work here at The News Record, but never really went so far as to give me an idea for this here column. As my mother flipped through the glossy catalogue pages, her face lit up.
