House congratulates Tan Holdings for 25th year in NMI
The House of Representatives has adopted a resolution congratulating Tan Holdings Corp. on its 25th year of doing business in the Commonwealth.The company, headed by board chairman Tan Siu Lin, celebrates its 25th anniversary today.In the resolution, the lawmakers paid tribute to Tan and his family, whose Tan Holdings Corp. had been based on Saipan since 1983. They recognized the company for being the largest private taxpayer and employer in the CNMI, and for contributing to the community."It is with great appreciation that the Fifteenth Northern Marianas Commonwealth Legislature recognizes Dr. Tan Siu Lin's silver anniversary of doing business in the Commonwealth," stated the resolution sponsored by House Speaker Oscar M. Babauta.Tan's entrepreneurship began in 1965 when he began a shipping and trading business in Hong Kong.
